April 25, 2022 / Mahopac, NY – Last week, the North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters announced its endorsement of Assemblyman Kevin Byrne to serve as Putnam County’s next County Executive.
Scott Smith, Business Manager of North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters (NASRCC) Local 279, added “Our Council represents over 28,000 members who are dedicated to their craft and who set the highest standards for skill in the construction industry.” Smith continued “We believe in developing and maintaining intelligent labor laws that can serve honest workers and honest employers. Our Council will always work to ensure and preserve fair labor standards and fight for sustainable capital construction programs which can create jobs and stimulate the economy. At the same time, we understand it is necessary to protect our members from proposals which would weaken their ability to secure work at appropriate wages.”
Smith concluded by exclaiming “These are our guiding principles that we look forward to working with you on, as we know you are the right candidate for NASRCC members. We stand with you in the upcoming election.”
Assemblyman Byrne also was entrusted with the endorsement from the Westchester Putnam Building and Construction Trades.
Kevin Byrne thanked the members of both unions for their support. “I am grateful to have received the meaningful endorsements from both the North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters and the Westchester Putnam Building and Construction Trades. I am looking forward to continue working with them to create more economic opportunities that will benefit the great residents here in Putnam County.”
