February 2, 2022 / Mahopac, NY: On February 1st, New York City’s Bravest, the Uniformed Firefighters Association of Greater New York- FDNY (UFA), made it official and formally endorsed Kevin Byrne in his bid to become Putnam County Executive in the upcoming 2022 election.

In a letter (attached below) to Assemblyman Byrne, UFA President Andrew Ansbro and UFA Vice President Robert Eustace wrote, “On behalf of the Uniformed Firefighters Association of Greater New York – FDNY, it is our great privilege to announce our endorsement of your election to the Putnam County Executive. Your experience and concern for public safety, public safety professionals, working  families, our education system, and the economy, will certainly be major assets to the people of Putnam County.”

”Now more than ever, it is important that we elect individuals who will protect the economy and growth of New York as well as remember the hard-working people who live here.  It is said that all politics are local. Many politicians lose sight of that fact after being elected. We are confident that you will never forget the people that elected you and will always fight to protect and enhance the interests of the people of your district. For all these reasons, we are proud to endorse you in your election to Putnam County  Executive. We wish you continued success and look forward to working with you for many years  to come.”

Assemblyman Byrne gratefully accepted the endorsement stating that “Earning the endorsement from the UFA which represents thousands of New York’s bravest, many who continue to call Putnam County their home with their families, means more to me than I can put into words. In Putnam County, we teach our young people that these men and women are bonafide heroes. They do an incredibly dangerous job by responding towards danger and burning buildings to save people. Again, I am incredibly grateful for their support and endorsement.”
