NYSYR Chair Peter Giunta Endorses Byrne for Putnam County Executive

December 2, 2021 / Mahopac, NY – This week, New York State Young Republicans Chairman Peter Giunta endorsed Assemblyman Kevin Byrne’s candidacy for Putnam County Executive.

“Kevin is the battle-tested leader that the people of Putnam County need to bring about a new generation of leadership to county government.  He has the knowledge, relationships, and management experience needed to bring in fresh, bold ideas and put them to practice.” Giunta continued “Kevin demonstrated his independence and fearlessness as a state legislator when he was one of the early few to take on disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo — and Kevin won.  Do not underestimate his work-ethic, skill, and support.”

Giunta continues “Taking office at 38 years old, Kevin would be the second youngest county executive in Putnam County history — second only to Peter Alexanderson.  In fact, he joins several former Hudson Valley Young Republicans who went on to become County Executive, including Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro at 37, Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus at 39, and former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino who first ran for County Executive at 39 as well.  We are proud to support Kevin Byrne as a fellow Young Republican running for Putnam County Executive.  History has shown that when YRs Run, YRs Win!”
