Assemblyman Kevin Byrne (R, C, Ref-Mahopac) is pleased to report his legislation (A10012) to allow for the leasing of advertising space at a local town park in order to raise revenue to support local recreation has been signed into law by Gov. Cuomo. This bill allows the leasing of space on certain sports fields in the town of Yorktown.

“I thank Gov. Cuomo for signing into law our legislation to provide a new creative revenue source for local recreation without further dipping into the wallets and pocketbooks of property taxpayers,” said Byrne. “The passage of this bill is the result of teamwork and collaboration with our many partners in state and local government. I’m delighted to see we were able to get this done for the people of Yorktown.”

The town made this request to lease advertising space at Legacy Field and Granite Knolls Sports Complex in order to fund turf replacement at both locations. This legislation will allow Yorktown to raise revenue without raising taxes.
