December 20, 2021 / Mahopac, NY – This week, the Westchester County Correction Officers Benevolent Association (WCOBA) endorsed Assemblyman Kevin Byrne’s candidacy for Putnam County Executive.

Neil Pellone, President of Westchester County COBA, had the following to say, “The Westchester County Correction Officers Benevolent Association (WCOBA) has chosen to endorse Assemblyman Kevin Byrne for the position of Putnam County Executive.” Pellone continued “Many of our active and retired members live in Putnam County, and Kevin’s passion and love for his hometown county is one of many reasons we believe that once elected he will represent them as a fair, firm, and proactive leader.”

Pellone continued “Kevin’s co-sponsoring of The Community Heroes Protection Act demonstrates his support for not only us in corrections, but of all first responders. We wish Kevin continued success and look forward to working with him in his new position!”

Kevin Byrne thanked the Westchester County Correction Officers Benevolent Association and their President Neil Pellone for their endorsement. “Our brave men and women in law enforcement are constantly facing new challenges. Many of these challenges come from the pandemic, but they also from poorly thought-out laws like eliminating cash bail and repealing 50a of the civil rights law. Still, these men and women continue to show up to work and do the job. While some politicians ignored our hard-working correction officers, I’m proud to say I have a long-established history working hand in glove with these remarkable men and women. Many of WCOBA’s members call Putnam County home, and I am honored to have their endorsement to serve as their next county executive.”
