Assemblyman Kevin Byrne (R,C,Ref-Mahopac) delivered Valentine’s Day cards made by students to local seniors on Friday, February 14.

Assemblyman Kevin Byrne (R,C,Ref-Mahopac) partnered with students from the Somers Central School District for a Valentine’s Day surprise for some local seniors. The students are a part of the T.E.A.M. Tuskers Mentoring Program, in which approximately 60 students ages 8 through 14 years old work with adult mentors in the community. The children made Valentine’s Day cards, which Byrne passed out at the William Koehler Memorial Senior Center in Mahopac and the Putnam Valley Senior Center in Putnam Valley on Friday, February 14.

“Everyone deserves a little love and cheer on Valentine’s Day,” said Byrne. “Valentines for Seniors is a great opportunity for local students to get creative while brightening the day of seniors in our community.  This year we passed out around 100 valentines. Thank you to all of the students who participated in this program.”
