Donations of non-perishable food items to benefit local pantries
Assemblyman Kevin Byrne (pictured above) and Sen. Terrence Murphy collected five full boxes of non-perishable food items during their Holiday Food Drive last year. This year’s drive runs from November 19th through December 20th.
Assemblyman Kevin Byrne (R,C,Ref.-Mahopac) and Sen. Terrence Murphy are kicking off the holiday season this year with a food drive to benefit the First Presbyterian Church of Yorktown and Brewster Community Food Pantries. Last year’s efforts produced five full boxes of food which directly benefited local families, and both lawmakers expect that this year’s drive will be even more successful.
Donations of non-perishable food items will be accepted from November 19 through December 20 at several local drop-off locations, including Patterson, Putnam Valley, Southeast and Somers Town Halls, as well as the Mahopac and John C. Hart Memorial Library.
“The First Presbyterian Church of Yorktown and Brewster Community Food Pantries play a crucial role to our community providing meals to our neighbors who are in need of assistance, not only during the holiday season, but throughout the year,” said Byrne. “Please join us in embracing the giving spirit, and together, I know we will make a difference. Every donation helps.”
