Pledges to Implement Bold Vision for County’s Future, Hit the Ground Running in January
(Thursday, November 10, 2022- Putnam County, NY) Assemblyman Kevin Byrne secured a resounding victory Tuesday night to officially become Putnam County’s next County Executive. While the win was no surprise as Byrne ran unopposed, the official results indicate Putnam County is ready for a new generation of leadership.
“Officially winning this election, securing the support from over 28,000 Putnam voters, is a tremendous honor,” Byrne said, “I remain extremely grateful to the voters for once again placing their faith and trust in me. The amount of support I received has been overwhelming and I am truly honored and humbled to serve as our next Putnam County Executive.”
In a speech to a packed room of supporters Tuesday night, Byrne reiterated his commitment to Putnam. As a native son of the county, Byrne told the assembled he was “built and raised to work”. Byrne also reaffirmed his campaign promises. “When I said to you, we were going to put in a taxpayer bill of rights, I meant it; when I told you we were going to do things to control county government spending even more; I mean it; when I told you we were going to be more accessible, more transparent; I meant it. We are going to do it. You are going to see it. Just watch.”
Byrne also extended a special congratulations to Congressman-elect Mike Lawler, Assemblyman-elect Matt Slater, incoming County Legislators Erin Lee Crowley and Greg Ellner, and County Legislator Paul Jonke, who ran with Byrne on a shared slate of fixing the economy, reigning in taxes, and providing citizens with a transparent government that works for them.
