August 25, 2020 / New York, NY – Adding to an already impressive list of endorsements, New York City’s Finest has made it official that they have endorsed Assemblyman Kevin Byrne in his bid for re-election to represent the 94th Assembly District.

In a letter to Assemblyman Byrne announcing the endorsement, NYC PBA President Pat Lynch wrote, “On behalf of the Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York, it is my pleasure to announce our endorsement of your re-election to the New York State Assembly in the 94th Assembly District.”

Lynch continued, “Your commitment to addressing the issues affecting New York City police officers is well recognized, and it is an honor to have you representing our members in the Assembly. We look forward to working with you towards our shared goal of a stronger, safer New York.”

Assemblyman Byrne thanked Lynch and his members saying, “I have been honored to run with the support of New York City’s Finest each election, and am proud to do so again.” Byrne continued, “Many of their members live within our community and commute down to the Big Apple where they are now facing more challenges than any other time in recent memory. I will not stop advocating for them, and those they protect and serve.”

According to the PBA’s website, “The Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York (NYC PBA) is the largest municipal police union in the world. The NYC PBA represents the approximately 24,000 sworn NYPD members who hold the rank of Police Officer and wear a silver shield like the one above — the front-line police officers in radio cars and on foot posts in your neighborhood, as well as those in specialized units and administrative divisions throughout the city.”

The PBA of NYC endorsement adds to a long list of first responder organizations supporting Assemblyman Byrne in his bid for re -election. To date, he has already received endorsements from the Westchester Affiliated Police Associations, Lake Mohegan Professional Firefighters I.A.F.F. Local 2956, Yonkers PBA, Law Enforcement Employees Benevolent Association, Westchester County Corrections Officers Benevolent Association, and the Westchester County Correction Superior Officers Association.
