Teamsters Stand With Byrne For Putnam County Executive

February 14, 2022 / Mahopac, NY: On Friday, February 11, 2022 the Teamsters Local 456 made it official and endorsed Assemblyman Kevin Byrne in his bid to become the next Putnam County Executive.

“Teamsters Local 456 is proud to endorse Kevin Byrne for Putnam County Executive,” said Louis Picani, president and principal officer of Teamsters 456, “Kevin Byrne has been a strong advocate for working men and women since his first introduction into politics. Kevin has never turned away from the issues that address organized labor. Kevin will be the right person to represent Putnam County as the new Putnam County Executive. Kevin works tirelessly for his constituents and the Teamsters proudly supports and endorses him in this election. He stands up for what is right and always makes sure the Brothers and Sisters working in labor are heard.”

Byrne welcomed the powerful endorsement by thanking the leadership and members of the Teamsters, ”the hard-working men and women of the Teamsters No. 456 provide a tremendous amount of services to our area. I thank President Louis Picani, his executive board and membership for their continued support. As a member of the state Assembly, we stood together on many issues. I look forward to continuing our work together as Putnam County Executive.”

As a candidate for county executive, Kevin brings a diverse background of knowledge and management experience from his time working in the public, private and non-profit sectors. Prior to his three terms in the state Assembly, Kevin worked in healthcare administration for New York’s largest private multi-specialty medical group. He also served as a regional director for the American Heart Association, deputy district director to former Congresswoman Nan Hayworth, member of the Putnam Valley Town Planning Board, and emergency medical technician for Westchester EMS and the Kent Volunteer Fire Department, where he served three terms as president. Kevin earned an M.P.A. with a concentration in healthcare administration from Marist College, and he holds a B.A. from the University of Scranton.

Kevin Byrne is a lifelong resident of Putnam County and resides in Mahopac with his wife, Briana (Messina) Byrne, and their son Braeden.
